A rare moulded earthenware dish/vide poche with zoomorphic decoration, signed J.Blin.
Blin was one of the most successful French ceramists in the post-war period. Trained as an aeronautical engineer, he became increasingly involved in ceramic manufacture, setting up a studio in Paris in the 1950s. Following success in the Sources et Courants exhibition at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, he was elected Vice-President of the Academie Internationale de la Ceramique.
