Large set of 14 wooden geometric solids from a Belgian school. These wooden models were used in teaching solid geometry and mathematics. The use of models for research and teaching of mathematics began to spread in the second half of the nineteenth Century.
All wooden shapes are blind stamped with H. van Havermaet Bruxelles. The Henri van Havermaet company was specialized in furnishing schools in the 19th century. The shapes range in height from 3 to 13 inches and range in width from 2 to 4 inches.
