Lars Zech Organic Wood Sculpture

An abstract wood sculpture by Lars Zech, carved from a solid tree trunk. Closely spaced cuts define its asymmetric form and give the dark surface a shifting rhythm of light and shadow.

The ebonized finish emphasizes the depth of the carving while retaining the natural character of the wood.

Zech (b. 1971) works near Germany’s Black Forest. Since beginning his practice in 1995, he has worked with naturally felled trees sourced near his studio.
